I woke up at 7am on saturday and started my dad with a mission: Cake Pops. I looked up a couple of sites on how to make them and all were pretty much the same: 1.) Box of Cake Mix 2.) Ingredients on Cake Box 3.) 1/3 Cup Frosting 4.) Decorative accessories.
I figured it could be too bad… I finished the darn things at 4pm!! There was a lot of sitting time in between where I had to let the cake cool, refrigerate, re-refrigerate, refrigerate x3 and etc. The hardest part of it was the decorating. I didn’t thin out my candy coating enough so it clopped off my cake ball. Lesson learned for next time!
I put so much darn effort into the little buzzards that I trudged on and brought them to the party:
The party was a good-bye party for my friend Megan:
Megan is starting a new chapter of her life and is heading westward to St. Louis, Missouri! I’m sad to see her leave but happy to have met her and wish her the best of luck. I’m sure she will be back to visit NC!
Julie, the hostess had a nice spread at the party:
Lot’s of great people at the party too!
It was a great weekend!
Have you ever tried to make something, put a lot of effort into it, and it just didn’t work out? What was it? Did you try to do it again?

I enjoy posting in the mornings much more so than at night. The past couple of nights have been night posts, but tomorrow I am going to try to swing back into a morning routine.
Today I had to drive down to Charlotte to attend an all day meeting 😦 I found out I am on a project (at work) that has me dedicating 60% of my time to it. The funny thing is, is that my normal 100% routine is there…so I think I am no expected to work 160%? I am the FIRST to admit that I am not a math genius…but that doesn’t make sense to me. I am just going to roll on with it though.
One perk of where I work is that we have a company suite at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Uptown Charlotte. I got two tickets (and a parking pass!) to tonight’s Josh Groban concert. My friend had to cancel on me, and none of my other friends have A.) never heard of him B.) already had plans. I would have went alone, but I don’t feel safe walking around that late at night in Uptown Charlotte. So I am a bit bummed about that. I decided that I would do something instead that is fun. I am going to make Cake Pop’s for my friend’s going away party tomorrow.
You know those cute little cake on a stick’s that have appeared at Starbucks. I apparently am the last blogger on the planet to have known about these cute little things from Bakerella’s blog, but came upon them after googling “how to make cake pops.” I think I am going to do polka doted ones with pink and white as the base.
Can’t wait to show you my results tomorrow!

Good Morning! I hope you learned a little bit more about me in yesterday’s post.
I woke up this morning SO sore! Last night I went to Hip Hop Hustle at Kadi Fit. I have never taken the class before but my fitness buddy Christine saw online that Katie (the owner) was teaching. I am familiar and comfortable with her so that made the class less intimidating. Apparently she hasn’t taught it before, but you would never have known because it was super fun! We did some battling, the Tootsie Roll and THRILLER!
Once I got my sore self out of bed, I took Miss Darla Marla on a walk. I ran out of K-Cups for my Keurig and decided I needed caffeine so a trip to the Coffee Goddess was in order:
This is an Iced Skinny Carmel Machiato …a mouthful! I am still enjoying it an hour and a half later as I am blogging while on a conference call (shhhh….!).
What do you do during conference calls (if you have them)? What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Paying my tide’s to the Coffee Goddess-

I was super sore today from yesterday’s double Kardio Dance Sessions. I must have pulled some serious muscles out of hibernation. All I could think about was going home and relaxing after work. At 4:30 on the dot I said good-bye to my boss and headed out the door. As I am pulling into the nice shaded spot under the tree in my condo community BAM
What’s that you ask? Maybe we need a little close up:
Yes that is a big ole’ gash in my tire…I hit the curb 😦 Who know that the curb would jump out at me like that? I bought the tires on January 28, 2011 so they aren’t even that old. I didn’t realize I had a gash until I took Miss Darla Marla on a walk and noticed it. Booo! But instead of getting too stressed out about it, I made a plan. I would text my boss, ask her if I could work from car dealership tomorrow and come in when I was done – she was totally cool with that. My weigh in went out the window at that point. My next issue was getting to Boga (Barre Class). If I couldn’t weigh in, I definitely didn’t want to miss exercise. One of my friends wanted to try Boga and she could easily drive by my house to get there so I asked if she would pick me up. Not only did she pick me up but offered to help me with my car. So after a kick butt session at Boga, Julie came over and helped put on my donut. My next-door neighbor saw us working and stepped in to help as well 🙂
Breathe in Breath out everything is going to be OK. I’ll get a new tire tomorrow and an alignment and hopefully be on my way.
Two days ago I posted about pathways and being presented with different opportunities. This tire incident was a good example of this (even though it’s a small one). Yesterday after work I went to the mall to get a pair of Reebok Flex shoes. The first store I went in didn’t have them, the second store I went in had them but I couldn’t get the girl to help me and the third store I went to only had one color – which was one I didn’t like.
After the first store I kind of had a sneaking suspicion that maybe I wasn’t supposed to buy new sneakers maybe something else was coming up that I needed to spend my money on. When I was at the second store and the girl wouldn’t help me (she was seriously avoiding me at all costs) I could have pushed for her to help me, I was one of 2 people in the store and easily could have forced her for service. Something told me to walk away. At the third store when they only had the one color, I was tempted but I knew those shoes weren’t in my cards, so I held off.
Voila! Now I get to see what that money was meant for. MY CAR!
Have you ever had a sneaking suspicion that there was a reason why things weren’t working out for you? Maybe it wasn’t the correct path? Whether if it was as small as sneakers or something much larger?

Mornings are my favorite time of the day. The world still feels to be in slow motion, the sun is slowly rising, the birds are starting to awake, infomercials are still on tv 🙂 There is just something serene about it.
Most week days I wake up between 6 and 6:30am. On Wednesdays I wake at 5am to be ready for a kardio dance class at 6am. Most people would think that’s crazy but I enjoy that special quiet time.
This morning I had a little bit of a hard time getting out of bed because last night I did a double session of Kardio Dance and then abs. That’s about 1 hour and 45 minutes of activity. It is so fun though it just fly’s by! I am going to do a post specifically on Kadi Fit where I go to class. It is amazing. If you are in the greater Charlotte, NC area you need to come and check it out!
After I finally got out of bed I debated on what I wanted for breakfast. I could decide between cereal, eggs or bagel thin. Not only sore but indecisive 🙂 I decided to have a bagel thin, with peanut butter, chia seeds and banana (plus a strawberry garnish).
What is your favorite time of the day? Do you have mornings or evenings?
